China Amsul Export Report: Standard, Compacted & MMA-Grade Deals, Short-Term Price Pressure Lingers

Weekly standard amsul prices fell further to $170-190/t fob, while daily prices were stable at $170-175/t fob.
Prices softened throughout the week, pressured by a lack of demand in southeast Asia and Brazil. Falling international urea prices also added to bearish sentiment.
A supplier sold 25,000t of standard caprolactam-grade amsul at $190/t fob for July shipment to South Korea earlier in the week.
Southern producer Fujian Tianchen closed a tender on 1 July to sell 6,000t of standard amsul for July loading. But only 1,500t eventually traded in containers at Yn1,100/t exworks, equivalent to $172.50/t fob for bulk cargoes. Meanwhile, southern producer Highsun will issue tenders to sell August loading caprolactam-grade standard amsul on 9 July and 23 July.
Compacted amsul prices were at $175-190/t fob on limited buying interest from key markets like Brazil, and lower raw material prices like steel-grade amsul.
There was a reported deal of 10,000-20,000t of compacted amsul that traded in the $185-190/t fob for July shipment likely to Brazil.
But some compactors are starting to take positions, anticipating stronger demand from Brazil in the next two to three weeks.
Around 10,000t of MMA-grade amsul also traded at $145/t fob for July shipment, likely destined for southeast Asia.
